Fluidity + Identity

What is your identity? Is it a concrete definition, privy to stillness? Or is it a moment, a breath, an idea that lives in constant reaction to all swirls around and within you? Is there ever truly a moment where you are not defined by the fluidity of the world around us?

These simple questions frame the wide and varied scope of work in Joshua’s portfolio. Through a diversity of media, it’s an exploration of the spaces between motion and stillness, often with a deeply sensual and emotional narrative.  Primarily dealing with water-based aesthetics and the human form, Joshua’s work layers the visible surface with the undercurrent of constant and dynamic change.

Joshua is classically-trained, with degrees from Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts as well as a graduate of the Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts.  Born and raised in South Florida, Joshua currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts.
